The Mindfulness Training Centre in Hong Kong was proud to participate in the International Conference on Mindfulness-Asia Pacific (ICMAP) 2025. Moreover we collaborated with universities, NGOs in Hong Kong, and international schools in Macau. As a result, this participation and collaboration helped strengthen our ties within the regional mindfulness community.
During the conference, we presented six posters and two oral presentations, showcasing our work across diverse populations. For example, our work includes stroke patients, individuals with intellectual disabilities, minority women, children, and those with emotional eating issues. Furthermore, these presentations highlighted the broad scope and relevance of our research across different groups.
Firstly, our presentations highlighted the positive impacts of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) in various areas: reducing depression in stroke survivors, improving social adaptation in individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting well-being among minority women, fostering mindful eating and emotional regulation in children, and addressing emotional eating behaviors.
Ultimately, these findings demonstrate our commitment to applying mindfulness practices to support mental health, social adaptation, and overall well-being in different communities.
The titles of our presentations were:
- Posters:
- Mindfulness-Based Interventions for Post-Stroke Depression: A Meta-Analytical Perspective
- The Effect of Mindfulness-Based Interventions on Social Adaptation with Intellectual Disability
- Promoting Wellbeing: A Mindfulness-Based Self-Care Program for Minority Women in Hong Kong
- Can A Cooking Program Improve Mindfulness, Mindful Eating, And Emotional Self-Efficacy In Children? A Pilot Study
- Increased frontal midline theta activity in response to mindfulness is related to emotion regulation: A pilot study
- The effect of Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) on university students with emotional eating: A randomized controlled trial
- Oral Presentations:
- Mindfulness-Based Physical Therapy Reducing Pain and Improving Psychological Outcomes in Chronic Low Back Pain Patients
- Can Mindfulness-Based Inspiratory Training Enhance Functional Outcomes in People with Chronic Stroke?
We invite you to contact us if you are interested in collaborating on mindfulness research. Specifically, together, we can make a positive impact on mental health and well-being through innovative mindfulness interventions. Therefore, we look forward to hearing from you and exploring potential opportunities for collaboration.
